Bio

David Paré's research is focused on collaborative approaches to counselling and counsellor education/supervision informed by social constructionist and narrative ideas and practices. He has published and presented extensively on the use of reflecting processes in counselling and therapy. More recently he has also begun to explore mindfulness applications in therapeutic work.

Professor Paré is principal investigator on a 3-year project funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada entitled Co-Constructing Knowledge among Counsellor Communities of Practice. The research is centred on a range of “collaborative practice groups”—large counsellor supervision groups which encourage peer mentoring and lateral learning.
