Bio Professor Audet is interested in the role of counselling in addressing challenges such as poverty, hunger, and AIDS in developing countries. To this end, she wishes to research social justice practices in an international context to promote relevant counsellor education and training. Curious about how clients experience the therapy process, she has looked at the client's perspective of therapist disclosure and how it influences the therapeutic relationship. Professor Audet leans toward research approaches that are pan-theoretical, qualitative, and honour the client's perspective. Lastly, she is interested in web-based technologies that complement counsellor learning and development. She helped develop the Collaborative Counselling and Supervision Website with Professor Paré as part of a SSHRC-funded project titled Co-Constructing Knowledge among Counsellor Communities of Practice.
